2008 Georgia Championship Series Information

Here's the "official" word on the Georgia Championship Series!

Classes:

1/8 Scale Pro Buggy

• 1/8 Scale Sportsman Buggy

• Production Monster Truck

• Unlimited Truck
  

The times set for the heats and mains will be determined by the race director at each track.  We will plan for 3 rounds of 5 minute qualifiers, 30min. A-Mains, 15min B-Mains, and 10min C-Mains.  Lower mains will be 5min.  (The lengths may change due to time restraints or weather conditions, solely at the track directors discretion.)  Race will run on Sunday in the event of rain on Saturday.  The starting rules (such as gate or IFMAR) will vary from track to track.

The Entry Fee will be $35.00 per driver, per class.  There will be a cash payout for the top 5 in each class at each race, and a cash payout for the top 10 in points in each class at the Final.  The cash payout will depend on the number of racers in each class over all 8 races.

Full Throttle Hobbies will sponsor the 1/8 Scale Pro Buggy and Unlimited Truck classes.  Rodslinger Raceway will sponsor the Monster Truck class.  Sponsorship for the Sportsman class will be announced at a later date.  At the Final, trophies will be awarded for 1st - 5th place, with a special something for 1st

Eddie Gunn at Full Throttle is working on T-shirts for the series and will have them at each race.

The points will be as follows:

1st place will get 200.

Each place below first will drop 5 points (i.e. 2nd: 195, 3rd: 190 and so on)

Top Qualifier at each race will get 5 bonus points.

There will be one throw-out race, and a 20 point bonus for making all six races.

The Finals - The Finals will be a two-day event.  Three to four rounds of 10 minute qualifying heats on Saturday, and 45 minute A-Mains on Sunday.  Double points awarded for the Final race.

Thanks for all your support in 2007!  There were over 600 entries total for all 8 races, with an average turnout of 75 per race). We would like to keep this number growing and make this year even better!
